Event Details

Explore the schedule, lakeside venues, and dress code to plan your day celebrating Clay & Hannah at Summersville Lake, West Virginia.

A tasteful flat lay of three distinct wedding gift fund representations arranged on a pale stone surface: a miniature brass airplane figurine on a folded map for a travel fund, a small marble house sculpture for a home fund, and a clear glass vase partially filled with pale pink rose petals for a celebration or experience fund. Between them, a slim ivory card with soft gold edges suggests an organized list, text rendered as indistinct lines. Soft, indirect daylight from above creates delicate shadows and gentle highlights on metal, stone, and glass. Captured straight down with balanced composition and ample negative space, the photographic image feels modern, elegant, and intentional, conveying exactly three refined gift options without clutter.
A refined concierge-style desk scene representing wedding contacts and questions: an antique brass rotary phone, a slim leather-bound notebook open to blank, lined pages, and a sleek fountain pen resting diagonally across. Nearby, a small crystal bowl holds simple ivory place cards with faint, unreadable script. The desk surface is dark walnut, polished to a soft sheen, with a single white rose in a glass bud vase adding a romantic touch. Diffused natural daylight streams from a window off-camera, creating quiet highlights along the brass and glass elements. Photographed from a slightly elevated angle with crisp focus and a subtly blurred background, the mood is calm, organized, and reassuring, conveying sophisticated support for logistics, dietary needs, and accessibility details.

A Lakeside Day With Us

Here you’ll find everything you need for Clay & Hannah’s wedding at Summersville Lake—our ceremony and reception details, dress code, and what to expect as we celebrate together by the water.

Ceremony & Reception

A long, elegantly laid banquet table outdoors at dusk, representing overall wedding celebration details. The table is draped in crisp white linen, with low centerpieces of white and blush flowers, trailing greenery, and tall tapered candles in brushed brass holders casting a warm flickering glow. Delicate crystal glassware and simple white plates with fine silver cutlery line the table in symmetrical rows. String lights overhead create soft bokeh in the background against a deepening blue sky. Shot from one end of the table with a cinematic, slightly low angle, the perspective draws the eye down the full length. The lighting mixes candlelight and fading natural light, creating a romantic, sophisticated atmosphere in clean, photographic realism.

Ceremony

Clay & Hannah will exchange vows at 4:00 PM outdoors along the shoreline of Summersville Lake, West Virginia. Lakeside seating will open at 3:30 PM so you can find your spot, take in the turquoise water, and settle in before the ceremony begins.

A serene, detail-rich vignette showing wedding day information and schedule: a classic pocket watch with its lid open, roman numerals clearly visible, resting beside a cream-colored cardstock program whose printed lines appear as soft, unreadable strokes. A silk ribbon in muted taupe curves gracefully around them on a pale marble surface, with a single sprig of greenery and two loose white petals nearby. Gentle morning light from a nearby window creates soft highlights on the watch’s polished metal and faint shadows from the paper’s edges. Photographed at close range with a shallow depth of field and centered composition, the scene feels calm, organized, and sophisticated, suggesting timing, ceremony, and reception details with polished photographic realism.

Reception

Following the ceremony, please join us for a relaxed cocktail hour beginning around 5:00 PM near the water, with light bites and drinks as the sun softens over the hills. Our dinner reception and dancing will begin at approximately 6:00 PM in a nearby lakeside gathering space, where we’ll share toasts, stories, and plenty of country music under the West Virginia sky.

Dress Code

Our celebration is outdoors and country-inspired, set against the turquoise water and Appalachian cliffs of Summersville Lake. Think garden party casual or outdoor country chic: flowy dresses, skirts, or jumpsuits; button-downs with chinos or dark jeans; comfortable shoes or boots that work on grass and gravel. Layers are encouraged as the evening cools by the water.

Please avoid stilettos or anything that might sink into the ground. Soft florals, natural tones, and textures like linen, lace, or denim all fit beautifully with Clay & Hannah’s warm, rustic lakeside setting.

What to Expect

From the moment you arrive, we want the day to feel like a relaxed gathering of friends and family. Expect sweeping lake views, plenty of fresh air, and a ceremony that feels heartfelt and personal to Clay & Hannah.

After we say “I do,” we’ll ease into cocktail hour by the water, followed by a cozy, country-style reception with dinner, toasts, and dancing under the stars. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for the evening breeze, and planning a little extra time for parking and walking to the lakeside ceremony space.

Most of all, come ready to relax, laugh, and celebrate with us as we begin our married life together at Summersville Lake.
