Ceremony & Reception

Ceremony

Clay & Hannah will exchange vows at 4:00 PM outdoors along the shoreline of Summersville Lake, West Virginia. Lakeside seating will open at 3:30 PM so you can find your spot, take in the turquoise water, and settle in before the ceremony begins.

Dress Code

Our celebration is outdoors and country-inspired, set against the turquoise water and Appalachian cliffs of Summersville Lake. Think garden party casual or outdoor country chic: flowy dresses, skirts, or jumpsuits; button-downs with chinos or dark jeans; comfortable shoes or boots that work on grass and gravel. Layers are encouraged as the evening cools by the water.

Please avoid stilettos or anything that might sink into the ground. Soft florals, natural tones, and textures like linen, lace, or denim all fit beautifully with Clay & Hannah’s warm, rustic lakeside setting.

What to Expect

From the moment you arrive, we want the day to feel like a relaxed gathering of friends and family. Expect sweeping lake views, plenty of fresh air, and a ceremony that feels heartfelt and personal to Clay & Hannah.

After we say “I do,” we’ll ease into cocktail hour by the water, followed by a cozy, country-style reception with dinner, toasts, and dancing under the stars. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for the evening breeze, and planning a little extra time for parking and walking to the lakeside ceremony space.
